Matador chronicles the unlikely rise of Tony "Matador" Bravo, a popular soccer star who comes to be known as much for his playboy antics off the field as his dynamic moves on it. Right now, MATADOR borrows heavily from the same sorts of shows that made Stephen J. Cannell famous - WISEGUY, RENEGADE, SILK STALKINGS - but I think it needs to find its own voice, and become something different (I hesitate to say "better" because Cannell's shows were pretty great for their time).
